Our vision is of a local community where volunteering is an integral and valued part of everyday life and where Voluntary Action (Chiltern and South Bucks) helps individuals and organisations across all sectors to have a positive experience of voluntary activity.
To bring the experience of effective voluntary activity to every individual and organisation in our area.
We believe:
Volunteering creates caring communities and a more worthwhile society
Everyone has something to offer their community.
Volunteering is a matter of personal choice.
Volunteering helps individual and personal growth.
In the independence of the voluntary sector.
In our business we will demonstrate:

Our work is greatly supported by volunteers who take on a variety of roles within our organisation.
We currently have 17 volunteers doing such diverse things as:
Designing display boards
Matching volunteers with available opportunities
Developing contacts with the press to promote volunteering and writing articles
Keeping our databases up to date
Delivering publicity materials to libraries
Helping us label envelopes, collate flyers and newsletters for mail outs
Arranging refreshments at our events
Updating our website

Part of a national network of Councils for Voluntary Service (CVS), we are here to provide the 5 functions of a CVS to any and every voluntary and community group in Chiltern and S Bucks districts.
As a member of the National Association of CVS (NAVCA), we have demonstrated that we meet the quality they set for work in these areas
A CVS is a voluntary organisation, which is set up, owned and run by local groups to support, promote and develop local voluntary and community action. CVS support their members by providing them with a range of services and by acting as a voice for the local voluntary and community sector:
